------- LANLOG -------
Monitoring and controlling the software licenses you use in your
organisation is in many countries a legal obligation. LANLOG will record
the actual software run by the machine on which it is installed and then
produce all the reports you need to see exactly how many workstations
run each product file.
LANLOG's main features are:
Record and meter the software run on a workstation
Easy Installation for LAN & stand alone use
Discrete run time code
Fast! - workstation users unaware of operation
It won't hurt your budget - it's a LOW COST CORPORATE solution
Simple to produce reports, without using a database
Report by work group, department etc - very simple to configure
Provides evidence you are controlling software license use
Meters all programs executed at the workstation - even from floppy
Centralised Metering of workstations on a LAN
No record locking, timeout and performance problems
Flexible, can be set up and used many different ways
Suitable for isolated or connected LANs (WANs)
Data can be retrieved to central point using BBS's Email etc
Produces crisp reports sorted by entries
Reports directed via DOS to files, printers etc
Provides a log which enhances your help desk support
Output optionally in comma quote format
The officers of your organisation are potentially liable for any breach
of license agreements that may take place within the areas they manage.
This responsibility is often cascaded downwards in the organisation from
senior people.
Using LANLOG, small islands of users can quickly and easily determine
their actual software usage and produce the necessary reports to support
their position or justify additional license requirements.
Using LANLOG you can answer a number of simple questions:
* What software is being used in your organisation, department,
area or workstation?
* With what frequency is it being used from each workstation,
department and organisation?
* What software is being run, when and with what command line
for each workstation?
Other utilities use lanlog's meter table:
* Providing a LASTRUN utility for batchfiles, running
selected programs every N days in login and autoexec files.
* In conjunction with LASTRUN, another utility, UP2DATE, will
force workstation compliance with a set of master directories
on a server.
